Pool Information

Welcome to Sam Barlow Swim Pool

The information below is for the 2023-24 school year.

We update all information as things change slightly with each season.

PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN THE MAIN LOT OFF LUSTED ROAD, NEXT TO THE FOOTBALL STADIUM.

RECREATION SWIM

We will offer POP-UP Recreation Swims throughout the school year.  Dates and details will be posted and emailed. (Be sure to join our mailing list!)

Cost $5.00 per person     Barlow Pool accepts cash and check ONLY. No debit/credit.

Discount Punch Cards for Recreation Swim, Lap Swims and Pop-Up Swims.  Punch cards purchased at Barlow Pool are accepted at Gresham, and vice versa. Punch cards do not expire.

$45 for 10 Swims     $85 for 20 Swims     $120 for 30 Swims

Please note the following pool policies:

  • Children 8 years old and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times. 
  • All children must be fully toilet trained in order to swim. 
  • Swim diapers are not allowed.
  • Non-swimmers or those wearing lifejackets, an adult must be in the water within arms reach at all times. 
  • Barlow Pool does not provide lifejackets. 
  • Lifeguards commonly ask people to do a short swim test prior to going into deep water.  If the participant cannot complete the swim test to the level that the lifeguard feels is successful, then they will be asked to stay in the shallow area.  We will always err on the side of safety.
  • Barlow Pool accepts CASH AND CHECK ONLY! (NO CARDS!)
  • Food is not allowed on deck.
  • Please keep street shoes off pool deck.
  • Glass containers are not allowed in pool faciltiy.
  • No long breath holding or prolonged repetitive breath holding, it's for your own safety!

Group Lessons - 

Barlow Pool is offering grade school swim lessons throughout the school year in cooperation with East County Swim School.  When you register, you will be directed to the East County Swim School website.  All registration for school year lessons is done ONLINE ONLY through the ECSS webpage.  The lessons are American Red Cross lessons, so if you took lessons at Gresham or Barlow Pools this summer, your level is the same as what we recommended.

Mon & Wed

7:00-7:30pm  Levels 1, 2, 3

7:35-8:05pm  Levels 2, 3, 4/5  (Level 4/5 is a combination class)

Cost:  $60

WHEN TO REGISTER:  Registration goes LIVE at 8:30pm on Oct 4 and will stay open until the first day of class.  

Location of lessons:  Barlow Pool (and Gresham Pool too!)  Make sure when you register, that you take note of which pool you are registering.  ECSS runs programs at 3 pools.

HOW TO REGISTER:  Click the link below.  You will be directed to the East County Swim School page.  Scroll to BARLOW POOL and click the level and time you'd like to swim.  If you have not taken lessons through ECSS before, you'll have to create a login for your first time.  Then follow the prompts to register and pay.  If you need any assistance with the registration, please contact the coordinator, Erin Bradley at eastcountyswim@gmail.com.

Registration typically opens the last day of each session for the following session.  That way you know exactly what level to register.

These lessons will run all year long in 3 week sessions AND they will be held at both Barlow and Gresham Pools. 

Private Lessons

Sorry it's taking longer than expected, we're working on providing private lessons and will post information when we have it.  Please note:  we have a high volume of private lesson inquiries right now and cannot respond to all of them.  When we have information, it will be posted and sent through our mailing list.  

Pool Rentals

STARTING JULY 10 ALL RENTALS WILL BE HELD AT GRESHAM POOL

Pool rentals are available for various different activities.   

Groups of 25 or less:  $85/hour

Groups of 26-50:  $100/hour

Rental cost includes lifeguards.  One hour minimum rental time.  Rental time is total facility time (including set up and dressing time).  If you're interested in renting the pool, please fill out the rental form, it will have additional pool policies outlined in the form.  The most available time to rent the facility is Saturday and Sundays.
